In celebration of Back to School, Annapolis Mall is teaming up with the Annapolis Maritime Museum (AMM) for an exciting partnership aimed at educating and engaging the community about environmental conservation. The collaboration will feature live educational content, interactive entertainment, and exclusive offers that showcase AMM's mission to protect the Chesapeake Bay and its surrounding ecosystems. AMM will host a special activations on Saturday, Aug 16th —giving visitors the opportunity to experience hands-on learning and entertainment. These activations will include: 10:30 AM: Discoveries: The Library at the Mall + AMM Maritime Storytime (in Crate & Barrel Court) 2:00-4:00 PM: AMM Eco Education and Entertainment at Macy’s Court, including: Critter Table: A live demonstration of various organisms that live in AMM’s oyster cages. Visitors can engage with and touch the critters while learning about their role in the Bay’s ecosystem. AMM's Lead Educator will be on-site to provide insights into these fascinating creatures. Hand Oyster Tonging Game: An interactive activity where participants can try their hand at oyster tonging. Prizes will be awarded for participation, including free museum admission and fun, small giveaways like stickers. Oyster Costume: A playful, larger-than-life oyster mascot will engage with customers, providing photo opportunities and spreading awareness about the importance of oysters in the Bay. Together, Annapolis Mall and the Annapolis Maritime Museum are working to create a positive environmental impact while promoting awareness of the incredible natural resources right in our own backyard.
